those were the days...
I was sitting in the passenger seat, heading to a work appointment when my colleague drove past the Kelana Jaya stadium. I managed to peek into it a little and realized that I was drawn to this place.
“When was I here before?”
“How come have nostalgic feelings wan?”
Luckily my memory was working and I remembered that was where my sports day was held back in my secondary school years. Another vague recollection of that place was that we used to stay over at this stadium the night before the PJ Half Marathon where we were volunteers. I can’t recall fully but something of that sort la. Can only remember bits and pieces here and there like trying to rollerblade at the carpark, walking through the park late at night to head to Mcds (which is now the Mcds situated at the ground floor of my office block ), and having the guys trying to scare us and midway through the ghost stories, we stumbled upon a couple sitting at the bench at the park. late at night? Hmm…
Too bad I don’t have any pictures to show but there was a certain year where they introduced cheerleading in our school and every ‘house’ were to be represented. Of cos, me being me, I had no keen interest in joining at all ( hello, I was a runner..hehe) but oh, the things we’d do for a friend. A close friend was captain of my house that year and he desperately needed people to form a team and I obliged lor. It was a mad affair on the day itself because I had to rush from competing in the 100m then change into my outfit for cheerleading, cheer, and then changed back into my running gear for another race. I remember frantically removing those yellow soft balls ( yes, part of the uniform ) tied to my ankles. ( yellow house rules! )
Ah, don’t u miss the good old times??
