a tale of a group of frustrated men

today, in a group which consists of a married man with 2 young kids, 2 relatively newly weds, a guy with a girlfriend and 2 girls (which i was one of ), i forgot how the topic went interestingly to wife/girlfriends or women in general and this instantly strucked a chord with the boys. they suddenly went all excited and enthusisaticly contributed their 2 cents worth regarding this topic. its was almost like being in an alcoholic anonymous meeting, except it wasn't their struggles with alcohol they were sharing about. they were practically ranting about their other halves ( the better ones of course! ) haha..

one guy shared about a situation he faced and the others all agreed in unison, nodded eagerly and chipped in with another similar experiences.

"i asked my wife where she wants to eat. but then she says anything. so i brought her to pan mee. upon reaching, she went all upset and asked why i didn't bring her to chilis."

"can't they just say what they want??"

"one christmas eve, i asked my wife whether i could spend the night with some buddies and she said ok. i went and she became upset. but she already gave me the 'permission'!!"

"my girlfriend said we haven't been spending enough quality time.but she's the last person i see before i sleep and the first person i see when i wake up! i see her all the time!"

"ya! my wife just said that we haven't been 'talking' like we used to! *exasperated* what does she mean man???"

"you know before we got married she does not nag at all. but now, she nags and nags and nags and i told her that if you continue nagging, you are gonna be the reason i turn gay!"

the whole scenario was so funny (especially the last one) and i cant help grinning as i heard them share one by one. ( i guess that's what all guys do when they have their 'macho' outings rite? lol ) they have cleverly describe females, or rather some of the attributes of a female in that very few lines and its scary why? because they are right! now, before some of you females feel offended and want to express their disappointment in me for failing the sisterhood, i know this is purely stereotyping. some women are entirely and totally different from the above description but i can tell you that i for one, certainly fall into that group. yup i just said it. i am fickled, i don't say what i mean and i wish men could read my mind and tell me what i want. ( mark can attest to this. haha ) oh believe me, im not too proud of this trait but i cant go on not accepting who i am right?? hehe..

i told the guys that probably their wives are also feeling the same way and they(the guys) weren't what they(the wives/girlfriend) signed up for as well.

but they totally ignored me and continued with their pity party. (what??? no enlightenment??)

one ( especially a disgruntled partner ) could go on and on about this topic and never come to a solution. so how?? live with it lor! hahah.. cos according to a very wise person, women/men : can't live with them, can't live without them.. hahaha.. ( i know, smart right me?? tee hee )

as i had a bit of 'free' time yesterday night, i took the opportunity to play with my new toy just a little bit. can you believe it? poor deprived toy. after buying it for weeks, never got a chance to play with it more till yesterday.

having snowman as my model this time ( better than spicy because he stays still throughout... ) changing the ISO, aperture & shutter speeds, i got different results! ( this is really wow to me as i gain more insight to what those really mean )


i forgot the settings proper but this must be taken at low aperture. ( i think )

i love burning the midnight oil (NOT!)

you know, i was planning to hit the sack really early tonight considering the late nights and the long past 2 days but like the thousand and one things that never go as planned, i'm still up & its inching slowly close to midnight now.

the irony 'cos i've been thinking lately about how things hardly turn out as we've planned. our ideal state. stuffs will definitely crop up; traffic jams, dog bit my homework, misplaced car keys, empty fuel and more often than not, i find myself being frustrated and irritated when things don't go my way, even more so if i've been anticipating it a whole lot. well, i am working to still make the best out of everything and anything even if it didn't turn out the way i've imagined it to be and honestly, it is something which need constant reminders.

anyhowssss..

i'm sure all of you must be missing mark who has disappeared from the blogging scene for god knows how long and i can clearly understand why. what's not to miss right? a person who is funny and has been so generous with his poser pics, his loyal blog readers must be pining for him dearly, praying for his kind soul to write again. let me whet your appetite a bit with this...

was on this bout of watching F.R.I.E.N.D.S last Sun and i got reminded of this episode where freddie prince jr cameo-ed. the series is just hilarious lar even though you've it watched before! a note of caution though; it can get addictive. :P and its funny how you get hooked on these things when you are pressed for time..( i was telling my sis how freddie prince jr was the hearthrob of my time and she doesn't look that impressed...tsk )

yuenwei : and what do you call a boat that is full of tomyam soup and yummy stuffs in it??.... a s.t.e.a.m.b.o.a.t!!...

during last sun's mooncake festival dinner. sis going ga-ga. our family, we have this thing for steamboats. instead of our usual kepong joint, we tried another in plaza damas. i really hate taking risks when it comes to food but oh well, this time it didn't disappoint. :D

pps: btw, it took me 2 years of contemplating before buying this new toy of mine. 2 whole years!! can you believe it?? so really gracie, im not a shopaholic! in fact, im very much of a cautious shopper. lol.. :D
