this has got to go down in the books.the day started rather normally.
Woke up a little late as usual *yawn* to find that it was drizzling outside. Ahhh, perfect weather to sleep in.
I was heading towards the highway outside my housing area when I saw the traffic starting to build bout 200meters away. I sighed..
If the traffic wasn’t enough to ruin your beautiful sleepy morning, the next thing I knew, the engine died.
“shucks, shucks, shucks!”Couldn’t start it back so I was trying to calm myself down, thinking of the next thing I should do. From my mirror, I could see cars and cars having to switch to the next lane to avoid my stalled one. :(
So the next wise thing to do is to pick up your phone to call your parents or friends kan?
To cut the long story short, after numerous calls and failed SMSes, I realized that my phone is barred. Bummer. ( the saying "Malang Tidak Berbau" adds more meaning to me now)
I would’ve loved to say that God miraculously started my car, or that He miraculously unbarred my phone, but He didn’t. I guess he had other lessons in mind for me.
So I sat in the car for another 10 minutes or so, weighing my choices. Actually I don’t hav much of a choice really, unless I’m thinking of flagging down a random car to use their handphone. hmm, haha..better not la hah…
So I got of out of the car, got my bag and laptop, locked it, and prayed tat it’ll still be there when I return with the toll car. And hopefully no one is tat oblivious to ram into my poor car. ( the toll guy told me after that I didn’t even pulled my handbrakes or returned the gear to ‘P’) Guess I overlooked that tiny bit :P
Honestly, I was feeling quite sorry for myself. It was drizzling, I was walking, my heels were killing me, I’m starting to get blisters, the cars were passing and nobody stopped to help this poor damsel in distress.
Haha, kidding lar. I’d rather be left alone.
so i walked and i walked and i walked...and then JENG JENG JENG!
It was as though I’m looking at a finishing line when I saw my dad’s car parked at the side of my house.
It was like feeling Coke trickling down your throat when you’re super duper thirsty.
Or smelling KFC when you’ve been craving it for days
Or finally finding your parking ticket when you’ve been frantically searching for it the last 15 minutes.YESSSSSSSSS!!! I made it!! hahaa..
(getting a lil bit too drama aren’t I? *wink*)
Ok la I strayed off topic liao. Lol. Well, the car’s is at the mechanic now. This adding on to the list of problems I had with THE car since the beginning of this year. ( yes, its only March)
So…What did I learn from this episode??
It's to
ALWAYS pay your phone bills on time!! HAHAHA..
And
Empathy. i think i'm lacking in that for quite awhile dy.
Now, looking at it that way didn’t leave me feeling all that lousy anymore. :D
