L.O.V.ESomeone just asked me the other day.
“Do you even know the meaning of love, young padawan?”Well of course I do. I’m just not sure whether I’m practicing it or not. :P
Love is patient. Love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices in the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes and always perseveres. To me, that is just mind-blowing.
I’m nowhere near that. Nowhere.
How often do I find myself being rude to the people I care about most? Or how fast I am angered by those who love me the most? And say, when my gal-pal gets that killer promotion while I’m stucked at same old pathetic job or when she gets hooked up with the almost ‘perfect’ guy while I’m still having a pity party for being single, can I say that I’m not envious at all and that I truly delight in her achievements?
And keeping no records of wrongs? haha..Man, I tell you.. I’d be so ready to point out the number of times they’ve wronged and score against them! I’m just waiting,
waiting and waiting to jump at the opportunity! LOL!
Don’t even get me started bout apologizing and saying ‘sorry’. Elton John got it absolutely right when he sang “Sorry Seems to be the Hardest Word” and when AZ Yet belted “Hard to Say I’m Sorry”, I nodded my head in agreement!
Conclusion? I admit that I’ve still a long way to go. *wink*
p.s : I’m sure my friend was referring to romantic love when he asked me that. Well, it still applies anyway :D
p.p.s : all examples here are fictitious k? i am not referring to you, to you, or to you.
