im posting from my office to check whether the administrators have unblocked it or not. previously cannot update blog.

i reached home fr work and the first thing i turned on was my laptop. urgh. so no life. hehe.. today was quite an interesting day at work, with conversations like this one....

ex colleague : eh, hav u deco-ed ur place ah?
me : no la, deco must hav inspiration wan. now no inspiration ler. teehee!
ex colleauge : better dun deco. later JINX new dept again.
me : CHOI!

just so to prove HIM wrong, im so gonna deco my desk tomoro man. haha.

i think my sprained ankle has become a very easy way to strike up a conversation, mostly started by my colleagues. so many times in the last few days, concerned colleagues would ask me what happened to my ankle when i try to walk/limp past them and i always reply them with a sheepish

"i fell down la..." and laugh.

and when i notice them looking at me as im painfully making my way to the pantry, i forbid them to laugh at my expense! poor me k.. i have to make sure tat i dun drink as much water as i normally do so that i dont need to make unneccessary visits to the toilet in a day.

hmm...tat was a lil too much information rite? wakakka..

i met a college classmate at the Crystal Event held in my office today and dahlah im having butterflies in my tummies for having to present, now even more so because i know someone in the room KNOWS me. JENG JENG JENG!...and silly me din realise tat i was connected to the wireless connection because they auto-connect when they can detect a stable connection rite? so during one of short breaks we had, when a gmail chat popped up, it was a pleasant surprise. then i totally forgot about it when the presentation resumed and while i was explaining a slide, the gmail chat popped up again! lol. so i *tried* to act cool la and closed it. tsktsk. i should've just made a joke out of it man instead of embarrassingly shutting it quickly. keke..

and then i was told that i have to sit in during lunch for some briefing.

"got free makan", product manager said.

so ok lor. i didnt mind sitting in anyway cos for the last few days i've been staying in during lunch hours while waitin for my colleague to tahpau lunch for me. so when i walked into the boardroom at 1pm, i was gleefully happpy because on the table, it was a bucket of KFC!

a lil something i forgot to add about this new cubicle im in. there's this *lookable* guy sitting diagonally in front me now. last week when i first moved in, he was on MC for a week cos he was down with chicken pox, so no being girly excited last week. but today as he was sitting at his desk, i found it a *tad* lil difficult for me to concentrate and focus on my screen. not that i was busy catching glimpses of him from the corner of my eyes la. it was more of..

"is my hair out of place?"

"is my eyeliner smearing?"

"is my specs hanging low on my nose making me look like an aunty?"

I MADE MY WAY TO KL!!!


today, of all the days, im supposed to drive down to KL to do a product demo. if walking to my car in the morning today wasnt as difficult as it is dy, i now hav to hobble around KL, looking for the right building, the right floor, the right place... not only tat, i really dont know my way around KL. i've never driven to that part of the world before!

*kicking myself now for not trying to remember the roads when im sitting in someone's car*

i was reallly really contemplating to not go. i could always come up with excuses like the pitiful ones such as "ah, i cannot walk. its too difficult ler. sniff" or the more threatening ones like "u want me to wear slippers to client's place ah hah?"

but in the end, i decided to go on with it la. dont want to give myself too many excuses to slack. :p

so off i went armed with a paper of directions and two maps which served me good. i din know exactly where i was most of the time. all i knew was tat the places and buildings i passed looked somewhat familiar so i just followed the directions given to me. *keep right till u turn right to overhead bridge, go straight, reach maxis jejantas...*

i reached! i reached the place!!! yay!

so yada yada after the demo..

*stops suddenly*

now, how am i supposed to get home?

i was so worried about getting there that i totally forgot bout getting back home! lol

hehe..all is well and im home now. leg pretty tired but still safe. i rocked n rolled my way back la. tsktsk.

im glad i went ahead instead of succumbing to my fears, my doubts and my obstacles. so many times we stop at the verge of doing something great because we found a thousand and one excuses not to. it is pretty interesting y'know to push yourself a little harder and do some stuffs u havent done before.

this is one small incident that taught me a big lessson today! cheers!

GREASE IS THE WORD



since i super loved the show ( i still watch it once in a while whenever i feel like it ), i expected the musical to be mind blowing.

it started off quite disappointing and i thought to myself, "har, this's gonna be it?"

the sound system was bad; prolly cos of the echo or something ( im no good with PA stuffs ) till you hear everything twice. i couldnt make out who was talking and what they were talkin about and when it was the girls' scene ah, everything was a jumble of high pitched voices! *shudders*

so when the music of 'Summernights' came on ( i could actually picture deborah cueing us to sway to the left on the 2nd beat and us putting our sunglass on! hehe..miss christmas practices!), it was horrible! the tempo of the song and the singing didnt match! ah, so utterly dissappointing kay. was beginning to get headache also because of the double voices.

then finally, FINALLY, they fixed it. *phew*

i was really half expecting it to be like the movie; the scenes, the backdrops, the characters, but they did a lil improvisation, well *alot* actually. everytime i go "hey, tats not how the movie went!", i kick myself for comparing it to the movie.

for example, the 'Beauty School Dropout' sung by a man ( i dunno his name ) in the show was replaced by a black lady in this musical. her vocals were good wei. at the end of the song, it looked and sounded like the songs we heard in "The Gospel" video we saw at church the other day. ( how they do praise n worship ) the dancers were even doing the clap hand thingy fr the-top-left-to-top-right-then-to-bottom-left-and-to-bottom-right thingy. when i saw it, i couldnt help but chuckle, remembering the incident in Rawang where we were goofing around and i was doin that same move. right clare? hehe..

and when they danced to 'We Go Together', i thought of the campfire dance we did in form 4. i remember the penguin move. tat was like the best dance ever! ah, tat was super fun. :p hehe.. i was so so looking forward to the part after the 'WAP BA DE LU BAP DE WAP BAM BOOM' where we practiced super hard cos it was super fast with super alot of moves. ( like how they did it in the movie ). remember that imer? but they cut tat part off. :(

but as a whole, it was really enjoyable. thanks kevin for the tickets. i would've prolly not gotten around to watchin this musical though i really wanted to cos i couldnt cari any kaki.

oh i have a tip for the guys too! if u ever need a pick up line in the future, as how danny zuco sings in the musical, say/sing to the girl : the heater is not as warm as u! HAHAHAHA

It feels as if im starting a new job at a new place. Well not quite, but almost. New desk, new colleagues sitting around me, new extension…ehhe..felt a lil tad emo when I walked over to my old 'corner' to get some stuffs I forgot. It's all quiet and empty now and the colleagues who once used to be sitting there are all gone now. 

*sigh* oh well…*reminds self to think happy thoughts*

I'm glad to have shared the last four months with them.

But now I don't have anyone to call 'babi' or 'stupid' anymore. LOL. *bluek* Sure gonna miss watching stupid videos fr his laptop. (the dentures dropping video yesterday takes the cake. Hehe..)

Mr. Liew (babi) Yew Loong, (I know you do read this at times), thanks for everything. Despite my 'blurness' and my 'slowness' and me asking you stupid questions (once in awhile only la), you've been extremely patient. So yeah, appreciate it. :p

up till now, i would say tat ive kept my desk relatively neat n tidy. i've arranged my stuffs, put the stacks of papers at one corner where as the stationaries, cds, all those small loose stuffs, i store it in the drawer.


i even tried to deco it a bit. after a few months into the company, i tot everything would be quite settled in already so i tot it'd be the right time i start my deco.

but then something happened. and i tot i was gonna be leaving...

me : "ah, sumore i deco my desk dy!"
colleague : "haha eh, ur deco jinxed us la"

o_O

so now im not leaving, but they are still. ( very complicated la the details. lazy to explain now)
and with their last day approaching, colleague is packing n dumping all the stuffs to me. books, softwares, papers, modems, pens, calculators, calculators tat can flip open automatically. so much rubbish!!

so i have stacks of books on my left, stacks of paper on my right..everywhere!!! ah so messy!


but i'd be moving to another cubicle soon so im not bothering to clean it up. lucky i never go deco my desk canggih menanggih. if not paiseh la hav to take down everything and put it up again later. lol.

anyway, this new area tat im gonna be in, the cubicles are all very nicely decorated wan!
JENG JENG JENG! and so begins the competition to have the coolest looking cubicle! HAHAH


yay! clean desk.....and then my colleague dumps ANOTHER stack of books on my table.

i was sitting at my aunts place on tues afternoon doin the stupid e-learning thingy i've to finish before my training on wed. the longer i was sitting there, the more frustrated and irritated i became. i shouldnt be here! i should be walking at some street now, window shopping. i didnt come all the way to spore for nothing! it was 4pm and i was literally kicking myself for not finishing this thing yesterday nite.

*tick tock tick tock*

ARGGGHHHHH!! i closed all the programs and got ready to go. dun care la i havent finished. i've gotta get out of the house!

called a cab and i was soon on the joyride to duxton road ( to my hotel )

when the cab stopped me in front of my hotel, i was like...OOokkKKKKkkkkaaayyy..

it was a road with old and small shophouses ( think malacca ) filled with pubs and massage parlours.




the road where the hotel is located. i just realised that i've no pics of the hotel itself! lousy me..hehe

when i went into the hotel lift, there were only 3 buttons. floor 1,2 and 3. eh, but im on room 401! so there has to be a 4th floor rite??? so i pressed the 3rd floor, guessing that i need to walk up to the 4th floor. lift door opens and i walk out to search for the 4th floor. i found a staircase at the side which leads to two rooms. one of which was mine. coool..

the room looked quite scary when i first stepped in but after chilling in there the whole night on tues, its not all that bad. i've come to like tat place even. friendly staffs, small place, quiet environment. i hardly bump into anyone except for the staffs. i think im missing it now dy. lol.




everytime i come back to the room, i plonk myself down on the cool and comfy bed, pull the covers and turn on the tv.



this piece of furniture reminds me of the talking clock in beauty and the beast. i was half expecting it to come to live when i slept. haha.

not long after checkin in to the hotel, i went to bugis. went down to the hotel counter and asked them for directions to the nearest mrt station and started walking. bugis is something like petaling street, with lots more shops!! so it being the first time im alone, i tot i should be a lil cautious la. cos at nite mah. i hav to walk about 5-10 minutes from the station to my hotel, so i returned to the hotel about 8+.

i went back at 930pm the 2nd day.

and 1030pm the following day. haha.

the routine goes like this. i take cab to training, take cab back fr training, drop off my laptop, change, then walk to mrt station, then im off on my lil adventure!

2nd day was the most fulfilling. went to esplanade and suntec city! im so happyy!!! two places i absolutely love; lakeside walks ( with icecream!! ) and fountains!! i walk walk walk walk till got blister so i limp limp to the nearest pharmacy, got myself plasters and voila, im ready to walk walk walk again! HAHA..

they say its the world's largest fountain. for good luck, u put u right hand in, make a silent wish and walk around the fountain 3 times.

oh and have i mentioned tat the hotel staff(s) are very friendly? *winkwink* hahaha..

hhehe... AND singapore's really a dangerous place to live in la. especially for the females. why??

BECAUSE THERE ARE SO SO MANY SHOPS AROUND!!!!! AND VERY ACCESSIBLE TOO!!

from the mrt station to esplanade also ah, there's this tunnel full of shops. so even before i reached the esplanade, i was distracted already. hehe.



i wanna be able to do this! oh well, im just a tripod and a camera away. haha
also, the signboards over there are really good la. even for a person as blur as myself, i could manage my way around! despite the one...or two mistakes, i still reached my destinations k!! *proud*

all in all, it was a very enjoyable trip. it felt as if i had a one week holiday. lovely lovely lovely. :p thanks to all of you who msged or called. really appreciate it! makes me feel so loved! ehe..

thanks also to sarah and david for taking me out on the last nite. white hokkien mee rocks! ok not really, malaysian food better! AHHA..

this couple were highschool sweethearts, made it happened and now mr and mrs chen.

he wrote a song for her in english and mandarin sumore! they also showed a video of how he proposed through another song he wrote. ah, melts

saying his vows. ehehe..the groom so kancheong tat he made a mistake. tsktsk.

overall it was very simple and sweet. i liked it alot compared to some weddings which are so rigid and strict. this was more like a chill wedding, a gathering a relatives and close friends to celebrate the union of this couple.

while waitin for our parents in the car, sis n i got a lil bored. tsktsk. my sis pretty good at her expressions eh?

my cousins insisted keeping the seat next to me empty so that i can meet *some* eligible bachelor. bleh. in the end, it was my uncle's friend who filled up tat spot. haha

presentin my killer heels. i know its not TAT killer to some of you, but it is to me cos i rarely wear heels. lol.

and finally, the reception after the church wedding was held at the rooftop of the church. soft breeze with chill out music..lovely. and most of all, their theme was purple!!!! haha

just remembered a joke fr the wedding shared by the pastor who was speaking during the ceremony.

with valentines day around the corner, loving husband asks his wife what she would want for a gift. to which she replied, "..i want something irrational and romantic..."

so husband presented a beautiful diamond necklace to his wife on valentines day and told her "Honey, im inspired and motivated by a four letter word to buy you this gift." "Oh really dear? why, is it the word L.O.V.E?" the wife asks.

husband says "no darlin, its the word S.A.L.E." :D :D :D

i've to start thinking and slowly recall those special moments if i wanna blog about the wedding. this wedding tops the list of all the weddings i've been before ( which is not a lot but hey, anywhere near the top is better than the bottom! hehe )

aiyo just realised cousin's pc no photoshop. so cannot post up pics. guess tat would just have to wait la. aiyah. then no fun dy to blog bout wedding without pics. bleh.

cousin's weddin over the weekend was lovely. simple, nice and sweet. will post up pics and blog more about it soon. it was really fun with four car full of aunts, uncles and cousins. it was no doubt noisy and chaotic but i love love big families. :D

and oh i really did not bring enough clothes la. tsktsk. :p
